Leeds have won three of their last four Premier League matches under the guidance of Jesse Marsch but face a daunting run-in that includes matches against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea after their trip to Selhurst Park.

“Leeds could get dragged into it, they’ve got an awful run,” the former Liverpool and Manchester United striker said on Sunday. “If they don’t get something against Crystal Palace then all of a sudden I can’t see them getting something in the three games after, and then they’re probably going to have to get four points from the last two games. So Leeds are in trouble as well.”

Owen believes that Burnley’s victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday was not only enough to lift them out of the bottom three, but it will propel the Clarets to safety.

“Out of the three, I’d prefer to be in Burnley’s shoes,” he said. “They’ve got the momentum, they’ve got a few points recently, they’re out of the bottom three now.

“I’d say it’s going to be between Everton and Leeds who goes down.”
