Spurs forward is by far the most-popular captain in reduced round of matches
The performance of Harry Kane (£12.5m) against West Ham United on Sunday is set to make a big impact in mini-leagues in a Blank Gameweek 30 where Fantasy Premier League managers have rushed to Free-Hit.
A season-high 838,000+ managers have played the chip to navigate the reduced round of fixtures, with only four Premier League matches taking place.
Notably, four of the five most-popular players are out of action in FPL this weekend, with title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City among the sides who are not involved due to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Free Hit chip is ideal for such a scenario as it allows Fantasy bosses to completely change their squad for one Gameweek only and field a full XI.
GW30 chips used
Chip | Total played |
Free Hit | 838,206 |
---|---|
Wildcard | 103,866 |
Triple Captain | 11,789 |
Bench Boost | 10,295 |
Among the active players this weekend, Kane is the top captain pick, trusted with the armband by more than 1.7million.
With 73 per cent of managers not even owning him, the forward’s display could have big implications in mini-leagues.
Kane is in superb form ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s encounter with West Ham, having racked up seven goals, one assist and 10 bonus points across his last six appearances.
Son Heung-min (£10.9m) is in second spot as managers back the Spurs duo to take advantage of any tiredness in the West Ham squad.
David Moyes’ side were taken to extra-time on Thursday evening in their UEFA Europa League win over Sevilla.

Philippe Coutinho (£7.5m) completes the top three captains.
Encouragingly for the 201,000+ who have put their faith in him, the Brazilian has scored three goals and provided three assists in his four home matches since returning to the Premier League.
Aston Villa host Arsenal on Saturday.

Kane and Son are the overwhelming armband favourites among the leading 100 Fantasy managers, with Harvey Barnes (£6.6m) replacing Coutinho in third.
Barnes has been a reliable performer of late, producing an attacking return in seven of his last nine outings.
His two backers among this elite group, Joe Sherman and Harri Bywater, will be hoping he delivers once more when Brentford visit Leicester City on Sunday.

Kane and Son have also been among the top three transfer targets for Blank Gameweek 30, behind Brentford forward Ivan Toney (£6.7m).
Snapped up by more than 889,000 managers, Toney has amassed 44 points over his last four starts, his best period of form this season.
Those who opted for Toney over Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Raul Jimenez (£7.7m) will be relieved as the Mexican was sent off in Friday’s 3-2 defeat against Leeds United, getting an FPL score of -2.

The top three transfers out were all, unsurprisingly, players without a fixture.
Mohamed Salah (£13.3m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) still remain the two most-selected players in Fantasy, while Emmanuel Dennis (£6.0m) is the most-owned forward.
The popular trio are next in action after the international break when Watford visit Liverpool for the opening match of Gameweek 31, although Alexander-Arnold is a doubt after sustaining a hamstring injury.
